Electro Chlorination Process Sodium Hypochlorite Solution is a powerful disinfectant and oxidising agent that effectively kills pathogens in water, preventing waterborne diseases like cholera, typhoid, dysentery, and more. Produced on-site using an electrochlorinator, it is made by passing electricity through a mixture of water and salt or seawater, generating a solution with a concentration of 7-8 grams per litre. This solution is easier to handle compared to commercial sodium hypochlorite, chlorine gas, or bleaching powder, making it a safer and more efficient choice for water disinfection. These systems utilise electrolysis to convert a simple saltwater solution/seawater into a highly effective disinfectant. By passing an electric current through a brine solution, facilitated by specialised Titanium electrodes with an MMO coating, the generator effectively converts the salt into sodium hypochlorite.
